This peice came about as an attempt to further of my ideas of building very simple devices that " play themsleves"... the same instrumentation ( as used on this peice ) was used for a very small installation at a performance in Nantes.
with a background in percussion, I wanted to avoid "playing" anything ( hitting, striking etc ), but rather set up simple systems and configaratuions of objects and small percussion, and use motors to "play" the objects in their own sporadic and random fashion ...
as the peice continued my only action was to subtely 'interfere' with the process by moving certain objects around, in and out of the way of the striking motors ...
